Without the use of paint, I use all glass to create my artwork. I layer cut, crushed and powdered compatible glass and layer that onto a base piece of glass. It is then fired in a kiln for over 12 hours. When cooled, I layer more glass and fire again, repeating this process until I get it the way I want it. A piece can be layered and fired more than 5 times.
